Love
I realise how much people confuse that word for infatuation. I'm not saying that there are no couples out there who are experiencing real love but I'm just saying those who aren't really should take a step back and think. I know some people who are really in love and that's great. It feels good to see them together. I really think people should think before they say that they're in love with someone because I've felt love for someone who's not related to me before (noone knows who that person is) and whatever I've felt for someone else wasn't even minutely close. So yeah. People shouldn't use that word so blatantly, you might hurt that person and even yourself.
Anyway, that aside, SSP training was damn... MENDAK. Out of the whole family of lions, only 10 cubs came down with only about five seniors. But it was kinda refreshing to see some of the them whom I am close to. I got irritated and bitchy after some time because of some reasons (may or may not be related to SSP). After meeting Nisha and Rusydiah that day, I let out all my bitchy force and felt better. HAHA. But yesterday I felt guilty for talking about someone behind his/her back. Thus, whoever yang terase, sorry uh but I'm still not liking you.
SPOILER ALERTSpeaking of yesterday, Huda, Sheilah, Nisha, Rusydiah and I watched Muallaf at The Cathay. It was... kind of a waste of money (the tickets were ten bucks each). The movie was just a play of vague random scenes about two muslim sisters, Rohana and Rohani who met and became friends with a christian guy who lost his belief in the religion, Brian. The title might hint to those who know what is Muallaf (it means convert) that it's about the two sisters influencing the christian to convert to a muslim. However, that wasn't the case. The story ended with the christian guy going back to his mother (whom he has been quite mean to over the phone) and in turn returning to his religion. In fact, the elder of the two sisters was the one that told him not to yell at his mum and find his religion. Ouh and the credits came up after Brian rushed back to the two sisters' house after going back to his mum in penang for the weekend so he could go for church.
REVIEW
It's a good movie in the sense that the actors and actresses were great (obviously). I think actresses and sisters, Sharifah Amani and Sharifah Aleysha were great. It was sweet to see the elder sister showing so much love for the younger sister. The movie had good quotes, be it from the Quran or from the script itself. It was really inspiring in a way but something was just missing. It seemed like a short film about Quran verses and how you should always love, cherish and forgive your parents no matter how vile/irritating/nasty they may be. Ouh and not forgetting to never give in your religion for being angry towards someone. As said in the above spoiler, it was a mix of vague random scenes. It had that little characteristic of an Indie short film. I guess it wouldn't hurt for people to watch it if they could appreciate the acting but I think the movie should have been more elaborated and should have brought the viewers further into the story. According to Huda, the ending was quite typical of the director, Yasmin Ahmad. According to some, Muallaf wasn't the best of the director's works. Out of five, I'd probably give the movie a two.
