I was chatting with a dear friend just a few minutes ago who I cherish. Ouh but he is much much older than me lah. We met through clicks of people or something like that. (yeah I know I hang out with older people). Okay he's actually 39 years old but I actually enjoy chatting with him. I dont know. I think I have the need to talk to matured people. He's super understanding lah. He's like a big brother I wanted all this while. Anyway, we were talking about society and love and relationships. So I asked him: what do you like about "her" (ex girlfriend)? Then he answered: If I gave you an answer, I wouldn't be genuinely in love with her at the time. Understand what he's trying to say? Well, he went on and said that if you're really in love with that person, you simply wouldn't be able to answer that question because love is the feeling of being comfortable, compatible, etc with that person. It's just a feeling that cannot be justified by physical or emotional reason. If you love that person, you would just say you do and you wouldn't need to try to be sincere because you would. Still don't really get it? Okay think of someone you once or still love (as in more than a friend/bestfriend and whatnot). Focus on him/her. Can you actually say it out loud that you love him/her because he/she is hot/gorgeous or because he/she is funny? Those are just traits that you like about him/her, things which everyone know or see. It's not a genuine original explanation because everyone who could get as close to him/her as you are would realise the same thing. Even if we perceive differently, we still use words that basically describe that person. Funny is funny but there are different levels. In fact the prove that we perceive differently shows that we have personal and original feelings about that person and that cannot be simply put into words because it wouldn't really show that genuineness you feel. For example, someone might say Sally is funnier and hotter than Jenny but you still love Jenny more than Sally. That's why when you love someone, you can only say so but you wont be able to give verbal reasons. It's mind boggling but it's true. You are genuinely in love with that person when you cannot give reasons why. But I guess it's all up to the individual take on this. I'm just expressing myself here.
